Overview

Due to the lack of a christian organisation to provide to people in Uvira teachings in the area of HIV-Aids, God spoke to us about getting involved. Teachings are held in churches, schools, community, through teachings, sharing pumplet, and showing movies. This works better. There are as well more work to provide teachings against HIV for teens and children as you can read it in bellow lines. In fact, we got involved working with kids to meet the needs of children in the area of providing an environment which could create joy for children and learn the word of God, also solving the lack of teachings in HIV for childrens and teens, providing as well health care and being supportive in their children education, also provive health care for children. The Lord led us to develp a children discipleship program whereby children get teachings from the Bible, in these teachings we include teachings against HIV as well, teach children how to protect themselves against tropical deases, being supportive in children education and provide free teatments for children who fall sick. We felt that the Lord was very much grieved seeing children who are dying by missing support and seeing more others dying in the hands of their parents with deases without goying in hospital . Because of extrem poverty more children die in the hands of their parents at home without arriving in hospitals; other parents take their sick children either to the withch doctors or to prayer rooms with the expections of their parents recovering their health; unfortunately always leave in prayer rooms or to the which doctors home disapointed with their children corps, they do all these because of missing money to take children to the hospital. The Lord spoke to us that we should not fold our hands and that we needed to do something. Prayerfully we brought these needs to the Lord and sick his wisdom how that could run. We followed his wisdom on the way forward and prayed for his wisdom. The Lord led us in buying footballs and use soccer as a means by which children could be gathers around; it helped us to reach to hundreds of children and also reach to families. Each parents in the sourounding wanted that his child become part of this program Youth With A Mission in Uvira first becames more known as an organistion which works with kids. Soccer and movies were mixed together including Bible teaching and other teachings in the area of health. Poetry and music tought to children meanwhile encouraging them to sing their own songs and poems with HIV Aids as a the main them then perform the songs in the public. During Songs performance parents are also invited to be part of the program. There are more testemonies from people in the community about how much they are very much impacted with this program. Receiving teachings from kids how to prevent HIV AIDS. Also, how to deal or help those already affected by HIV Aids. So far, in Uvira there is no christian organisation working in this area. Other non christian organisation does very little investing in children. Children are more joyful bein part of this proram, enjoy the teachings from us. The Lord has blessed us already with some chairs where children sit while following teachings and watching movies.
